Keegan, Kevin
Keegan, Kevin (1951– ) English footballer and manager. He played as a forward for Liverpool (1971–77), Hamburg (1977–80), Southampton (1980–82), and Newcastle United (1982–84). Keegan earned 63 caps for England (1972–82). He was European Footballer of the Year in 1978 and 1979. In 1992, Keegan became manager of Newcastle United, leading them into the Premier League. In 1997 he moved to Fulham. Keegan succeeded Glenn Hoddle as England coach (1999–2000), but resigned after a string of poor performances and became manager of Manchester City (2001– ).
