Crosby, ‘Bing’ (Harry Lillis)
Crosby, ‘Bing’ (Harry Lillis) (1904–77) US popular singer and actor. Following Crosby's film debut in King of Jazz (1930), he became one of the most successful ‘crooners’. He worked with Bob Hope on the acclaimed Road series and won a best actor Academy Award for Going My Way (1944). His recording of the Irving Berlin song “White Christmas” (1942) is one of the best-selling records of all time.
