Paul Shearman Allen and Associate Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to Asian American high school seniors who have demonstrated scholastic achievement and financial need and will pursue post-secondary education at an accredited educational institution in the United States. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be: at least 16 years of age at the time of application; of Asian Pacific Island heritage; citizens or permanent residents of the United States; beginning full-time study at an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States; must have a 3.3 grade point average. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement; leadership in extracurricular activities; involvement in community service; and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. Qualif.: Applicants must be: at least 16 years of age at the time of application; of Asian Pacific Island heritage; citizens or permanent residents of the United States; beginning full-time study at an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States; must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on strong character; the ability to persevere and prevail over adversity; academic excellence; community service involvement; and financial need.

LeePapa and Associates Scholarship for Travel (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage the students to travel back to the land of their birth or heritage during summer break and share the experience with the greater USPAAC community. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be of Asian Pacific Island heritage; must be citizens of United States; must be undergraduate or graduate students, with minimum of 3.3 grade point average at an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement; leadership in extracurricular activities; involvement in community service; and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit: downloaded application for the award; photo; additional attachment describing extracurricular activities, academic honors, and community service activities; 100-word biography; essay of 500 words on I Need This Scholarship (typed, double-spaced and signed by the applicants and their academic guidance counselors); transcripts from un-dergrad or post-grad school; copy of most recent household tax return signed by taxpayers; two letters of recommendation from those listed as references in the application. Deadline: March 17.

Ruth Mu-Lan and James S.C. Chao Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
