Carol Bond College Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To encourage interest in environmental education. Focus: Environmental science. Qualif.: Applicants must be future or current community college students; must be either high school seniors accepted for enrollment or current community college students enrolled at a North Carolina community college; must be pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences or Water Resources Management concentrations; must be U.S. citizens. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on potential to provide leadership in the environmental sciences and environmental engineering fields and potential to positively impact the fields.
Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit: an official application form; one copy of an official, sealed transcript of all university education; two letters of recommendation from professors, employers, or academic advisors; a 500-750 word typed or legibly written essay that discusses why theyu should be a scholarship recipient; proof of U.S. citizenship. Deadline: June 1.
Carol Bond Environmental Educator Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)
Purpose: To encourage interest in environmental education. Focus: Environmental science. Qualif.: Applicants must be environmental educators; must be North Carolina accredited teachers; must be U.S. citizens. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on potential to provide leadership and to promote knowledge of the environmental science and/or engineering fields.
Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit: an official application form; one reference letter from non-family member, limited to one page, submitted in a sealed envelope with referee's signature on the flap; a 500-750 word typed or legibly written essay that discusses why they should be a scholarship recipient and what motivates them to educate others about the environment; proof of U.S. citizenship. Deadline: September 1.
Carol Bond University Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To encourage interest in environmental education. Focus: Environmental science. Qualif.: Program is open to four-year university students pursuing a bachelor's degree in either Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering. Applicants must have a minimum overall 2.75 GPA and must be U.S. citizens. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic record and potential to provide leadership in the environmental sciences and environmental engineering fields.
Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit: an official application form; a copy of an official, sealed transcript of all university education; two letters of recommendation from professors, employers, or academic advisors; a 500-750 word typed or legibly written essay that discusses why they should be a scholarship recipient; proof of U.S. citizenship.
