Gary Walker Memorial Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To advance the future of the defense and corporate bar by providing tuition reimbursement to deserving IADC Trial Academy students. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Applicants must be attorneys who have some level of actual trial experience; must have been in trial practice for between 2 and 10 years; and must demonstrate commitment to the advancement of the defense trial bar. Criteria: Preference is given to minority and women students as well as those demonstrating financial need.

Funds Avail.: Fund includes the registration fee of $3,300 and the housing and meal package of $1,400 to attend the Trial Academy. To Apply: Applicants must submit completed application form available in the website along with a statement of the applicant’s actual trial experience (indicating number of trials, nature of the litigation, nature of role in defense team, etc.); copy of resume; list of any professional, civic or volunteer activities that may demonstrate a commitment to the legal profession and the defense bar; description of additional factors supporting scholarship application; and two letters of recommendation from attorneys who have supervised applicant’s work.
