Institute of Food Technologists Graduate Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support and encourage outstanding research and education in food science and technology. Focus: Food Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must possess a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and an exemplary interest in food science and research together with demonstrated scientific aptitude. Applicants’ research must be in such disciplines as genetics, horticulture, nutrition, microbiology, biochemistry, engineering, chemistry, etc. Program is also open to students who are enrolled in graduate studies leading to an M.S. or PhD at the time the scholarship becomes effective. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic standing, leadership ability, and demonstrated diversity in the food industry.
Funds Avail.: $50,000 in total. Number Awarded: Varies. To Apply: Applicants must submit an application stating his/her name and contact information; degrees held; date received; department and institution where degrees were received; degree; department and institution where study will be conducted; statement outlining student’s career objectives; list of extracurricular activities and hobbies; list of awards, honors, and scholarship received; detailed information regarding publications and presentations; summary of work experience; and a typewritten outline of proposed field of research. Institute of Food Technologists Junior/Senior Scholarships Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To encourage and support undergraduate students intending to pursue a career in the field of food science/technology and in other related areas. Focus: Food Technology. Qualif.: Program is open to sophomores,
juniors or seniors with a 3.0 GPA or above, pursuing a curriculum in food science or food technology in an educational institution having an IFT approved degree program. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic standing, leadership ability and demonstrated diversity in food industry.

Institute of Food Technologists Sophomore Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To inspire careers in the field of food science/technology. Focus: Food Science and Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be freshmen students intending to enroll in an approved food science/technology program and who have maintained at least 3.0 GPA for the first term of study and are recommended by the department head. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic eligibility.
