Alejandro “Alex” Abecia Reaching High Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide resources for educational opportunities including vocational schools and two and four-year universities. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be senior members of the Mary Caroll High School Band or graduating senior members of the Mary Caroll High School soccer team; must be members of the A/B

Honor Roll; must have taken honor classes in high school and maintained a courseload of at least 12 hours per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on merit.

Chris Nance Adler Scholarship Fund (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to graduating seniors at W.B. Ray High School to attend college. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at W.B. Ray High School and chosen by the Hall of Honor Selection Committee from the students named to the permanent honor roll. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need.

Allen - Marty Allen Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide resources for educational opportunities including vocational schools and two and four-year universities. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of a Coastal Bend high school or college students who attended a Coastal Bend high school; must be majoring in music; must maintain GPA of 2.5 and course load of at least 12 college credits per semester. Zachary Barriger Memorial Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to high school seniors who are planning to pursue a career in computer/electrical engineering. Focus: Engineering, Computer; Engineering, Electrical. Qualif.: Applicants must be seniors at Tuloso-Midway High School; must be attending an accredited two or four-year college in Texas; must demonstrate interest in pursuing studies in the field of engineering or medicine; and must excel academically with A/B Honor Roll status and honor classes. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on merit.

O.J. Beck, Jr. Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance to students seeking a bachelor's degree in building construction. Focus: Construction. Qualif.: Applicants must be students at Texas A&M University - College Station who are seeking a bachelor's degree in building construction; must have maintained residency in the area served by the South Texas Chapter of Associated General Contractors. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Beecroft Family Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students who are determined to succeed and planning to attend college. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in Nueces or San Patricio County, recipients of a GED certificate or currently attending college; must maintain at least 12 credit hours per semester at Del Mar College or Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Criteria: Applicants who are students who live at home while attending college will be given preference.

Reverend E.F. Bennett Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support to graduating seniors from a Coastal Bend high school. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be: graduating seniors from a Coastal Bend high school; in the top 10% of their graduating class; attending Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi or Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need.

Marion Luna Brem/Pat McNeil Teen Parent Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to teenage parents in Coastal Bend to pursue a college education while raising and supporting their children. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be: teenage parents who have attended high school in Coastal Bend; pursuing college education while raising and supporting a child; recipients of a high school diploma or GED certification; must attend Coastal Bend College, Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi or Texas A&M University-Kingsville; must maintain a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to high school seniors or graduates of a Coastal Bend high school in furthering their college education. Focus: Liberal arts; History; Political science; Music; Education. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates of a Coastal Bend high school pursuing a liberal arts degree majoring in history, political science, music or education; have a high school GPA of 90 percent or higher; maintain a college 3.0 GPA or higher and at least 12 hours per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance.

C.C.H.R.M.A. Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students majoring in business with an interest in human resources. Focus: Business; Personnel administration/human resources. Qualif.: Applicants must: be high school seniors or undergraduate college students majoring in business; be enrolled as full-time students in the Coastal Bend seven-county service area; maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (85% on 100% scale if high school students). Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

Justin Forrest Cox “Beat the Odds” Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational support for students who graduated from a Victoria ISD high school. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be students who graduated from a Victoria ISD high School; have a “C” average or better; be pursuing a four-year baccalaureate degree; complete at least 12 credit hours per semester; have overcome a significant difficulty in graduating from high school and have maintained a 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

D.C. and Virginia Brown Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to graduates of Mathis High School and current Mathis High School students to further their education in college. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates or current students of Mathis High School who have earned their GED certificate and who have good potential and character; must maintain a course load of 12 semester hours and a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic merit and personal attributes.

Derek Lee Dean Soccer Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist outstanding high school students of W.B. Ray High School who have a passion for soccer. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be outstanding W.B. Ray High School students and members of the soccer team who exhibit love for soccer, teamwork and sportsmanship. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and personal involvement in the sport.

Doraine Pursuit of Educational Excellence Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote educational excellence in Coastal Bend. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in the Coastal Bend; must be in the top 10% of the graduating class; and have maintained a GPA of 3.0 and enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance and merit.

Jay Downes Memorial Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to graduating Alice High School senior students in pursuing college. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating Alice High School seniors who lettered in UIL-sanctioned golf for at least two years; have an overall high school GPA of “B” or better; participated in extracurricular activities other than athletics; have high ideals, and spirit of good conduct and sportsmanship benefiting the “Fighting Alice Coyote”; must attend a four-year college or university, register for at least 12 hours of classes and maintain a minimum college GPA of 2.5 on 4.0 scale. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

John R. Eidson Jr., Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to Coastal Bend students who intend to study engineering in college. Focus: Engineering. Qualif.: Applicants must be students who are in good standing with the Engineering Department; must be sophomores or higher; must exhibit academic potential; must have participated in professional and social societies; and maintained full-time status and a GPA of 3.0 higher. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Barney Flynn Memorial Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to graduating seniors of Corpus Christi, Flour Bluff or Tuloso-Midway ISD high schools in furthering their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Corpus Christi, Flour Bluff or Tuloso-Midway ISD high schools; must be members of the high school band with a high performance level in band. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on merit.

Melissa Guerra Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance to senior students of Mary Caroll High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be Mary Carroll High School seniors; must attend a publicly funded college or university in Texas; and maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and 12 credit hours per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance.

Manuel Hernandez, Jr. Foundation Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide the high school graduating senior students of Roy Miller High School financial assistance for their college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Roy Miller High School; must have been accepted at a college, university, trade or vocational institution. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need.

Casey Laine Armed Forces Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school students who are seeking financial resources to further their college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must graduate in top 50% of high school class; maintain a GPA of 2.5 and enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester; must be graduating seniors or current graduates from a Coastal Bend high school, or members or honorably discharged veterans of the armed services, or R.O.T.C. members (high school seniors must agree to join an R.O.T.C. program upon entering college). Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance.

Sue Kay Lay Memorial Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school seniors seeking financial resources to further their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school seniors graduating at the end of the spring semester; must be enrolled in college full-time (12 hours or more); must have high school GPA of 3.5; have graduated from a high school in Coastal Bend; and maintain a permanent residence in the Coastal Bend. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need.

Brian and Colleen Miller Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist high school juniors or seniors attending a Coastal Bend high school. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school juniors or seniors attending a Coastal Bend high school; must attend any accredited four-year college or university. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need.

Puedo Scholarships - Joseph Huerta (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students in continuing their education in college. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have graduated from a CCISD high school and have a high school GPA of at least 90 percent on a 100-point scale; must be enrolled as full-time college students (at least 12 semester credits) at a four-year accredited college or university; and must maintain a course load of at least 12 college credits per semester and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

Purpose: To provide graduating CCISD high school seniors financial assistance for their college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating CCISD high school seniors with preference for students who have participated in speech or debate; have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5; must maintain a cumulative college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

Rotary Club of Corpus Christi Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To advance higher education in the immediate Corpus Christi area. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from the following: all CCISD high schools, Tuloso-Midway, Calallen, West Oso

or Flour Bluff high schools, Incarnate Word Academy, Corpus Christi Academy or Annapolis Christian Academy; must attend Texas A&M Corpus Christi or Del Mar College; must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and courseload of at least 12 hours per semester. Seaman Family Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Coastal Bend students who are home-schooled and need financial aid. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Coastal Bend or Calhoun County home-schooled student who demonstrates financial need; must be accepted at an accredited college or university; and must maintain a courseload of 12 semester hours. Criteria: Applicants are judged on the basis of academic performance and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit completed application form; essay of 500 words about the topic “Freedom.” Deadline: March 14.

Judge Terry Shamsie Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist graduating high school senior students in Coastal Bend, financially, to continue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in the Coastal Bend (Arkansas, Bee Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio). Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to further the education of eligible students in Coastal Bend. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from a Coastal Bend high school or employees or immediate family members of employees of the South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind; must have high school GPA of at least 80% on a 100% scale; must be enrolled in an accredited college or university of the United States; and must maintain a courseload of 12 college credits per semester and cumulative college GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and financial need.

Jim Springer Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to further the education of deserving students in Coastal Bend. Focus: Public relations; Marketing and distribution; Advertising; Communications. Qualif.: Applicants must be Coastal Bend residents; full-time college sophomore, junior or senior students with grade point average of 2.5; majoring in public

relations, marketing, advertising or communications. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance and financial need.

Stewart Title Firefighters Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to high school seniors and college students who are descendants of volunteer firefighters in Coastal Bend. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school seniors or college students in Coastal Bend; must be children of uniformed and volunteer firefighters for a fire department located in Coastal Bend; and must have maintained a 3.0 GPA and complete at least 12 credit hours per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance and financial need.

Talbert Family Memorial Accounting Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to deserving accounting students of Texas for furthering their education in the field. Focus: Accounting. Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time college juniors majoring in accounting at a Texas college with 3.25 grade point average; must have graduated from a Coastal Bend high school and permanently reside in Coastal Bend. Faye and Rendell Webb Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help needy students in financing their college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be students graduated from Miller or Moody high schools, with preference for students who attended Los En-cinos, Lamar or Lozano elementary schools for at least one year; must be education majors who are attending college in the state of Texas; must be students who have an average of 85 percent or better or maintain 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale and complete at least 12 credits per semester. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.

Wheelchair Success Foundation Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for people permanently confined to a wheelchair to attend college or technical school. Focus: General school. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates or GED certificate holders who attended a Coastal Bend high school; permanently confined to a wheelchair; must maintain nine credit hours per semester with GPA of 2.5 while attending an accredited university, college or technical school. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on scholastic performance and financial need.

Purpose: To provide educational assistance to students planning to become teachers or public school administrators. Focus: Education. Qualif.: Applicants must be: high school seniors graduating at the end of the spring semester; planning to become teachers or public school administrators; enrolled as full-time students in college (12 hours or more). Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 90 percent or more; must be graduates from a high school in the Corpus Christi Independent School District and must be permanent residents of Corpus Christi.
