Association for Preservation Technology International Student Scholarships (All/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote research or projects on preservation technology. Focus: Historic preservation. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled in a trade, undergraduate or graduate program which is affiliated with a trade school, college or university. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the quality of a submitted abstract and a personal statement.

Funds Avail.: No amount specified. Number Awarded: 15. To Apply: Applicants are required to submit their personal as well as their professor's contact information; a 250-word abstract describing the scope of the project/research and summarizing its relationship to an aspect of preservation technology and/or heritage conservation that relates to the conference theme and/or paper tracks; and 250-word personal statement stating why the conference would be of value to them. Applicants are also required to create an electronic presentation and give an oral presentation during the conference.

AWIS College Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote education in science. Focus: Astronomy and astronomical sciences; Geosciences; Biology; Mathematics and mathematical sciences; Chemistry; Physics; Computer and information sciences; Engineering; Psychology. Qualif.: Applicant must be a female high school senior; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; have at least 3.75 GPA; at least 1200 score in SAT or a composite score of 25 in ACT; planning to study in any field of Astronomy, Geoscience, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer and Information Science, Engineering, Psychology; planning to become a researcher or teacher. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on submitted applications.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. Number Awarded: 2-5. To Apply: Applicants must send five copies of: summary form; essay describing research experience; resume; two recommendation letters from science or research teachers; high school transcript and score of standardized test if available. Deadline: January 17.
