Sergeant Major Douglas R. Drum Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To protect and improve the benefits of the military retirees. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be a current member of AMRA, his/her dependent, child or grandchild; he/she must pursuing a degree in an accredited college or university. Criteria: Scholarship Committee will evaluate the application based on the student's educational achievements, leadership abilities, character, citizenship, and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $1,000; $2,500; $5,000. Number Awarded: 24. To Apply: Applicants must present the award letter to the college/university and request that AMRA be billed for half the scholarship for the first semester and half the scholarship for the second semester; an applicant must submit a 500 word or less essay telling why an applicant deserve a scholarship from AMRA stating the Educational plans, achievements, leadership abilities, extracurricular and community activities, work experiences, character and citizenship traits, or any other circumstance that assist the committee during the selection process; an applicant must

submit a letter of recommendation either from a teacher or professor, non-family member, past or current employer, from a project coordinator or a team leader. Deadline: April 4.
