Goldmann, Lucien
Goldmann, Lucien (1913–70) A Belgian Marxist philosopher and literary critic, pupil and follower of György Lukács, and humanist socialist. He is best known for his sociology of literature, in particular The Hidden God (1955), a study of Pascal and Racine, in later life he became an important critic of structuralism.
