Serrivomeridae

Serrivomeridae (superorder Elopomorpha, order Anguilliformes) A small family of deep-sea eels that have distinctly produced, beak-like jaws, a scaleless body, minute pectoral fins, and the dorsal fin originating behind the anal fin. Many species have a world-wide distribution and may be found at depths exceeding 800 m. There are about 10 species.
