Dromiciopsia

Dromiciopsia(subclass Theria, infra-class Metatheria) The name sometimes given to an order of marsupials that comprises the single family Microbiotheriidae, with several fossil genera and one extant genus, Dromiciops, which occurs in S. America. Both its anatomy and blood proteins show this group to be more closely related to Australian marsupials than to other American marsupials.
