Corduliidae

Corduliidae (dragonflies; order Odonata, suborder Anisoptera) Cosmopolitan family of medium-sized dragonflies which have slender, often metallic-green bodies. They have a slight projection on the rear margin of the compound eye, and a foot-shaped anal loop on the wings. The larvae occur in a wide variety of aquatic habitats, and are difficult to distinguish from those of the Libellulidae. More than 200 extant species have been described.
