Helotiales (subdivision Ascomycotina) An order of fungi, in which the ascocarps are apothecioid (see APOTHECIUM) and the asci are more or less club-shaped; the ascospores are varied in shape but are typically not elongated. Species are saprotrophic or parasitic on plants and found in a variety of habitats.
