propanone

propanone (acetone) Colourless flammable liquid (CH3COCH3) made by oxidizing isopropyl alcohol. It is a raw material for the manufacture of many organic chemicals and is a widely used solvent. Properties: r.d. 0.79; m.p. –94.8°C (–138.6°F); b.p. 56.2°C (133.2 °F).
