aerosol
aerosol Suspension of liquid or solid particles in a gas. Fog – millions of tiny water droplets suspended in air – is a liquid-based example; airborne dust or smoke is a solid-based equivalent. Manufactured aerosols are used in products such as deodorants, cosmetics, paints and household sprays.
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are being phased out as aerosol propellants because they damage the
ozone layer.
