random amplified polymorphic DNA

random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) A technique in molecular biology for the rapid assignation of DNA-based character states for phylogenetic analysis. The resulting amplified DNA fragment sizes are then used as characters for phylogenetic analysis.
