Montgomery, treaty of, 1267. After the defeat of his ally Simon deMontfort in 1265, Llywelyn came to terms with Henry III at Montgomery. He was recognized as prince of Wales in exchange for homage and 25,000 marks. The treaty was the highest point of Llywelyn's power.
