Monticelli, Angelo Maria
Monticelli, Angelo Maria, Italian castrato soprano; b. Milan, c. 1712; d. Dresden, 1764. He made his first stage appearance in Rome about 1730. After singing in Venice, Milan, and Florence, he was a principal member of the King’s Theatre in London (1741–44; 1746). In subsequent years, he was active in various European music centers until settling in Dresden about 1755.
