Bigelow, Jacob

Bigelow, Jacob (1786–1879). Rumford Professor of Medicine at Harvard University, responsible for the design of Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA, with its Egyptian Revival gateway and lodges (1825–42). It was the first garden-cemetery in the USA.
