HDLC
HDLC Abbrev. for high-level data link control. A data link control protocol developed by ISO in response to IBM's SDLC protocol, which is a subset of HDLC. CCITT defined a different subset of HDLC (see LAP) as the second (data link) layer of the X25 protocol.
