norethisterone
norethisterone (nor-eth-ist-er-ohn) n. a synthetic female sex hormone (see progestogen) administered by mouth to treat menstrual disorders, including endometriosis. Its main use, however, is in oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy. Trade names: Micronor, Primolut N, etc.
