Qun Wang once told CA: "I am motivated to contribute to the knowledge and understanding of society and human existence; to define my relationship with both the mainstream and my own culture. My writing has been influenced by Ralph Ellison, Raymond Williams, Michel Foucault, and a whole bunch of Asian-American writers and scholars. My writing process consists of formulating ideas, researching, writing, and revision. I am inspired by current discussions of multi-culturalism, the study of diversity of American society, the future of the country, and literary and cultural studies."
