SIDELIGHTS:

Deborah LeBlanc told CA: ‘My strongest influence in regards to storytelling was my grandmother. She was the best, in my opinion, and I'd sit by her rocker for hours, listening to her ghost stories. As for writing, many authors have influenced me—the ‘common man’ language so prevalent in Stephen King's writing, the way Jodi Picoult develops characters, and Ernest Gaines's literary style. I try to learn a bit more about the craft of writing each day from authors like these."
