SIDELIGHTS: Mike Greenberg began his career as a journalist, but quickly decided to switch to sports coverage. He held a number of sports anchor and reporter jobs before joining the ESPN sports network. Greenberg is a news anchor for the network's television network, and a member of the popular Mike and Mike in the Morning syndicated radio program. His first publication, My Wife Thinks I'm an Idiot: Sports, Family, and the Pursuit of Sanity, is an account of his life as a sportscaster and insights into his personal life. A critic for Publishers Weekly likened the tone of the book to the television show Seinfeld, "with its lightly humorous yet serious renditions of everyday minutiae." In Kirkus Reviews, a contributor found the book to be "refreshing." Wes Lukowsky in Booklist believed that Greenberg "exhibits the same sensibilities that make him an engaging on-air presence," and that My Wife Thinks I'm an Idiot will "keep fans reading and laughing."
