SIDELIGHTS:

Yitzchak Ginsburgh is a rabbi and a leading scholar of the Jewish mystical tradition. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Ginsburgh earned degrees in mathematics and philosophy with the intention of pursuing an academic career, but he was sidetracked when he became captivated by in-depth study of the Torah. He immigrated to Israel in 1965 and has since dedicated himself to sharing his knowledge of Jewish mysticism, lecturing at various educational institutions and writing dozens of books in both English and Hebrew. Ginsburgh lent his expertise in the Kabbalistic tradition to What You Need to Know about Kabbalah, published in 2006. The book is a resource for both Jews and non-Jews who are interested in the fundamentals of Kabbalah, and it incorporates information presented in many of Ginsburgh's previous books. It was called a "solid introduction" and "‘must’ primer" by California Bookwatch critics. Writing for the Library Journal, Graham Christian remarked that the book is "always intelligent and deeply grounded in established Jewish tradition."

In The Art of Education: Internalizing Ever-New Horizons, Ginsburgh explains how the "inner educator" in each person can be unlocked by using a series of skills designed to focus divine energy. Small Press Bookwatch reviewer Steven T. Karris wrote that The Art of Education provides a "complex, sophisticated, scholarly, thoughtful and thought-provoking introduction" to this oft-neglected area of Kabbalah.
