Zoghby, Linda, American soprano; b. Mobile, Ala., Aug. 17, 1949. She studied voice with Elena Nikolaidi at Fla. State Univ. She made her professional debut at the Grant Park Festival in Chicago in 1973, and subsequently sang opera in N.Y., Washington, D.C., Dallas, Santa Fe, Houston, and New Orleans. She received a critical accolade on Jan. 19, 1982, when she substituted on short notice for Teresa Stratas and sane the role of Mimi in the Zeffirelli production of La Bohème at the Metropolitan Opera in N.Y. Her other roles include Pamina, Donna Elvira, and Marguerite in Faust.
