Yost, Michel, famous French clarinetist and composer; b. Paris, 1754; d. there, July 5, 1786. He studied with Beer. He wrote 14 clarinet concertos, 30 quartets for clarinet and strings, 8 books of duos for clarinets, and Airs variés for clarinet, with viola and bass.
