Scott, Marion (Margaret) (b London, 1877; d London, 1953). Eng. writer on music. Formed str. qt. and led Morley Coll. orch. when Holst was cond. Founded Soc. of Women Musicians, 1911. Wrote mus. criticism for Christian Science Monitor 1919–33. Noted for research on Haydn, especially the str. qts. Also wrote books on Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
