Schiler, Victor

Schiler, Victor, Danish pianist and conductor; b. Copenhagen, April 7, 1899; d. there, Feb. 17, 1967. He studied with his mother, Augusta Schiler (1868−1946), then with Ignaz Friedman and Artur Schnabel. He made his debut in 1914; from 1919, toured in Europe; made his first American tour in 1948–49. He was also active as a conductor in Denmark.
