Rübsam, Wolfgang
Rübsam, Wolfgang , German organist and teacher; b. Giessen, Oct. 16, 1946. He studied at Southern Methodist Univ. in Dallas (M.Mus., 1970), and took lessons with Helmut Walcha at the Frankfurt am Main Staatliche Hochschule für Musik, where he graduated with an artist diploma in 1971; he subsequently studied with Marie-Claire Alain in Paris (1971–74). In 1974 he joined the faculty of Northwestern Univ. He made extensive tours as an organ virtuoso.
