Prinner, Johann Jacob
Prinner, Johann Jacob , Austrian organist, music theorist, and composer; b. probably in Münzbach, 1624; d. Vienna, March 18, 1694. He studied in Siena in 1651. After serving as Kapellmeister at the court of Prince Eggenburg in Graz, he was chamberlain to Archduchess Maria Antonia in Vienna (1680–85), where he remained in the imperial court service for the rest of his life. He wrote the treatise Musicalischer Schlissl (1677). Among his extant works are 47 arias for Soprano and Basso Continuo (c. 1680–85) and some suites.
