Poradowski, Stefan (Boleslaw)
Poradowski, Stefan (Boleslaw) , Polish composer and pedagogue; b. Wloclawek, Aug. 16, 1902; d. Poznań, July 9, 1967. He studied composition with Opieński at the Poznań Cons. (1922–26), then took private lessons with Rezniček in Berlin (1929). Returning to Poland, he taught composition and theory at the Poznań Cons. (1930–39; 1945–67) and also gave courses (from 1956) at the Wroclaw Cons. He publ. Nauka harmonii (Science of Harmony; Poznań, 1931; 5th ed., rev., 1964), Ogólne wiadomości z akustyki (General Knowledge on Acoustics; Poznań, 1947), and Sztuka pisania kanonów (Art of Writing Canons; Poznań, 1965).
