Pederzuoli, Giovanni Battista
Pederzuoli, Giovanni Battista, Italian organist and composer; b. place and date unknown; d. c. 1692. He was maestro di cappella at S. Maria Maggiore in Bergamo (1664–65). After settling in Vienna, he was organist (1677–82) and Kapellmeister (1682–86) to the Dowager Empress Eleanora. He distinguished himself as a composer of vocal music, including sepolcri and oratorios. His philosophical cantatas (1685) were the first of their kind. He also composed some sinfonias.
