Meyers, Anne Akiko

Meyers, Anne Akiko , American violinist; b. San Diego, May 15, 1970. She began her musical training at age 4, making her public debut as a soloist with orch. at age 7. Following studies with Alice Schoenfeld at the R.D. Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, she had advanced training with Josef Gingold at the Ind. Univ. School of Music in Bloomington and with Dorothy DeLay, Masao Kawasaki, and Felix Galimir at the Juilliard School in N.Y. In 1993 she was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant. She has appeared as a soloist with most of the leading orchs. of North America, and has appeared with major orchs. abroad. As a recitalist, she has performed throughout North America, Europe, and the Far East.
