Manners, Charles [ Mansergh, Southcote] (b London, 1857; d Dublin, 1935). Irish bass and impresario. Joined D'Oyly Carte Opera 1881, created Private Willis in Iolanthe 1882. Carl Rosa co., then CG from 1890. Amer. début 1893. Married sop. Florence Moody 1890 and with her est. Moody-Manners Opera Co., 1898–1916.
