Lemière de Corvey, Jean Frédéric Auguste
Lemière de Corvey, Jean Frédéric Auguste, French composer; b. Rennes, 1770; d. Paris, April 19, 1832. After studies in Rennes, he received training in harmony from Berton in Paris. While pursuing a military career, he composed many works for the stage, the most successful being his opera Andros etAlmona, ou Le français à Bassora (Paris, Feb. 4?, 1794). He also wrote many opéras-comiques, military band pieces, chamber music, piano pieces, and romances.
