Jackson, Samuel P.
Jackson, Samuel P., English-American organist, teacher, and composer; b. Manchester, Feb. 5, 1818; d. Brooklyn, July 27, 1885. He settled in N.Y. at the age of seven, serving as a church organist there from 1830 to 1875. He also engaged in teaching. He wrote four vols. of organ voluntaries (1865–74) and other sacred organ pieces.
