Gibbons, Ellis, English composer and organist, brother of Edward and Orlando Gibbons; b. Cambridge, 1573; d. May 1603. The only compositions of his which are known to exist are 2 madrigals included by Morley in his collection The Triumphes of Oriana (London, 1601): Long live fair Oriana and Round about her charret.
