Freithoff, Johan Henrik
Freithoff, Johan Henrik, Norwegian violinist and composer; b. Christiansand, 1713; d. Copenhagen, June 24, 1767. He received training from his father. Following extensive travels, he settled in Copenhagen in 1742, where he was made violinist extraordinary to the Danish court in 1744 and secretary to the Danish chancellery in 1745. He was an accomplished composer of chamber music. B. Kortsen ed. a complete collection of his output (Bergen, 1974).
