Flier, Yakov (Vladimirovich)
Flier, Yakov (Vladimirovich), Russian pianist and pedagogue; b. Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Oct. 21, 1912; d. Moscow, Dec. 18, 1977. He was a pupil at the Moscow Cons, of Kozlovsky and Igumnov. From 1935 he made tours in Russia, and later appeared abroad. From 1937 he also taught at the Moscow Cons., numbering among his notable students Bella Davidovich and Viktoria Posmikova.
