Dragon, Carmen, american conductor, composer, and arranger;b. antioch, calif., july 28, 1914; d. santa monica, calif., march 28,1984. he learned to play piano and other instruments; after studies at san jose state coll., he found his niche as a successful conductor, composer, and arranger for films, radio, and recordings; he also conducted pop concerts and served as conductor of the glendale (calif.) sym. orch. (from 1963). his son, daryl dragon (b. los angeles, aug. 27, 1942), was one-half of the popular music team of captain and tennille.
