Campanella, Michele
Campanella, Michele, Italian pianist; b. Naples, June 5, 1947. He was educated at the Naples Cons., winning the Casella Competition while a student there in 1966. He then taught at the Milan Cons. (1969–73), and subsequently made tours as soloist with leading orchs. of Europe and the U.S. From 1987 he taught master classes at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. His performances of the Romantic and modern repertoire have won critical praise.
