Brambilla, Marietta

Brambilla, Marietta Italian contralto, sister of Teresa Brambilla; b. Cassano d’Adda, June 6, 1807; d. Milan, Nov. 6, 1875. She was a member of a musical family; her 4 sisters were singers. She studied at the Milan Cons., making her debut in London in 1827; then sang in Italy, Vienna, and Paris. She eventually settled in Milan as a teacher. She publ. collections of vocalises.
