Bildstein, Hieronymus
Bildstein, Hieronymus, important Austrian organist and composer; b. Bregenz, c. 1580; d. c. 1626. After studying music in Bregenz, he went to Konstanz, where he was active as court organist. He wrote 25 motets publ. as Orpheus christianus seu Symphoniarum sacrarum prodromus, 5-8 vocum cum basso generali (Re-gensburg, 1624), publ. in a modern ed. in Denkmäler der Tonkunst in Österreich, CXXII (1971) and CXXVI (1976).
