Bertrand, Aline, notable French harpist; b. Paris, 1798; d. there, March 13, 1835. She studied at the Paris Cons, with Nadermann, then with Bochsa (1815), making her debut in 1820. She then toured Europe, winning special acclaim upon her appearance in Vienna (1828). She publ. Fantaisie sur la Romance de Joseph (on themes of Méhul’s opera) for Harp, and various other arrangements.
