Beheim, Michel
Beheim, Michel, German minnesinger; b. Sülz-bach, near Weinsberg, Sept. 27, 1416; d. there (murdered), 1474. He was active as a soldier and singer in the service of various German, Danish, and Hungarian princes. Beheim was one of the earliest of the Meisters-ingers who still retained some of the characteristics of the minnesinger. He finally settled in Sülzbach as village major or magistrate. He composed many songs, 11 of which are preserved at Heidelberg and Munich.
