Babeli, William, English harpsichordist, violinist, organist, and composer; b. probably in London, c. 1690; d. there, Sept. 23, 1723. He studied music with his father and with Pepusch. He was active in London concert life as an instrumentalist, and also organist of All Hallows. He composed a number of works for the harpsichord, as well as concertos for violin and for flute.
