Arbós, Enrique (Fernández) (b Madrid, 1863; d San Sebastián, 1939). Sp. conductor, composer, and violinist. Leader of Berlin PO and Boston SO. Cond., Madrid SO 1904–36. Settled in Eng. and on staff of RCM 1894–1916. Comp. opera and chamber mus. but best known for his orch. of several pieces from Albéniz's Iberia: those he left unfinished were completed in 1954 by Surinach.
