Private Navy of Sgt. O'Farrell
Private Navy of Sgt. O'Farrell ★★ 1968
Serviceable World War II service comedy casts Hope as the titular NCO who must salvage a cargo ship full of beer that was sunk by the Japanese. He also tries to get some nurses assigned to the remote Pacific island where he's stationed. But Phyllis Diller proves to be a poor morale booster. The film doesn't come close to the “Road” comedies, but it's still worth a mild recommendation to the star's fans. 92m/C DVD . Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Jeffrey Hunter, Dick Sargent, Mako, Gina Lollobrigida; D: Frank Tashlin; W: Frank Tashlin; C: Alan Stensvold.
